Lincoln Township Board
09 November 2009

Supervisor Zimmerman called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll call present were Carey, Hardin, Tobin, Majewski and Zimmerman. Also present were Zoning Admin. Lambert, Building Insp. Mantei, County Commissioners Grim and Lockmiller, Firefighter Witchell, Deputy Kennedy, Road Comm. Eng. Stocking, Fire Chief Majewski, Lakes Dir. Carey, Farwell Village Pres. Grim and 18 other interested persons.

Minutes of the 12 October 2009 regular meeting accepted as read.
Treasurer’s report was accepted as presented.

Motion by Tobin to pay the monthly bills, second by Hardin, roll call vote, all in favor, motion carried.

Lynn Grim reported that if you think that you have a Gypsy Moth problem call Jim Neff at the County so that he can evaluate the egg masses for treatment.

Stocking reported that he has heard nothing from Wilcox regarding the Downtown Enhancement , but will keep us updated.

Zimmerman read correspondence from the concerned residents from Silver Lake regarding the fire at 405 Maple St. Zimmerman read a letter of reply to those concerned residents from the fire chief.
Discussion ensued regarding the 911 calls to the county to report the fire, the fire departments response time, fire fighter training requirements, the lake hydrants and mutual aid.

Motion by Zimmerman to approve the application of Michael Majewski to the fire dept. pending physical and back ground, second by Tobin, all in favor, motion carried.

Chief Majewski reported 2 mutual aid, 27 rescue, 3 fire; and 1 power line related run for the month of October. 288 year to date.

Tobin reported that the cemetery arch is done and has been put in place. The college kids did a beautiful job on the arch and are to be commended for their work. The board wishes to extend our appreciation to the Citizens Action Group and the MMCC for all their efforts towards the arch.
Tobin reported that the sign for the Kilborn Cemetery is installed and the corner posts for the fencing are in.

The board wishes to extend our appreciation to Merle Harmon of Lincoln Sanitation and Tom Schunk of County Wide Septic for removing and disposing of the old privies at the Hamlin Field all at no cost to the township.

Motion by Zimmerman to approve a general fund expenditure of $832.00 for the purpose of Bob’s Tire replacing the tires on the plow truck, second by Hardin, all in favor, motion carried.

Motion by Hardin to adjourn the meeting, second by Carey, all in favor, meeting adjourned at 8:37 p.m.
